I’m Daniel Byrne, a Fractional CTO and Lead Developer with over 20 years of hands-on experience guiding teams and organizations through technical transformation.

Selected Work & Case Studies
1. Consumer Goods – Proctor and Gamble Marketing Platform Uplift
Led a migration from an aging on-prem monolith application to an N-Tier API based .NET application able to handle the demands of the marketing teams accross EMEA.
Single handedly developed the prototype and then led a small team to further enhance the system before hand-over to their internal IT team.
2. Telecoms – Orange / Everything Everywhere Self-Serve IVR & API Platform
Part of a small, high-performing team that developed a configurable IVR management platform empowering business users to design and deploy their own call flows. The system supported drag-and-drop route creation, conditional logic, and dynamic TTS content, enabling rapid iteration without developer intervention. This involved creating one of the first Single Page Applications before such frameworks and functionality became standard.
We also spearheaded the company’s first major customer data API initiative, securely exposing subscriber and account data to the Orange Self-Serve web and mobile applications — paving the way for future digital services.
The project included the launch of the original iPhone pre-registration site, which handled massive inbound traffic during Apple’s UK rollout and became one of Orange’s most successful digital campaigns at the time.
3. Onsite Remarketing – SaleCycle
Designed an event-sourced CQRS system enabling high-volume transaction tracking with strong auditability and real-time analytics. The challenge was to fingerprint users through a combination of metrics (IP address, browser fingerprint, pixel tracking) and to serve a bespoke onsite popup when exit intent was detected, and under 80ms.
This involved moving away from a SQL transactional based backend database to using Couchbase for high volume data processing. We migrated a legacy, monolithic .NET system onto the new V2 CQRS based system, and then further migrated parts of the system onto a serverless Azure Function based system.
4. YourNextStack (Current Project)
Founder and CTO of a modular SaaS frameowrk that provides data, authentication, and real-time RPC services, and allows companies that want to migrate away from their legacy stack to move onto a microservice based, AI enhanced, scalable system.
The key advantage of YourNextStack is allowing businesses to develop a modularised system that allows them to get their data from the back-end right through to a modern, responsive front-end application at significant velocity and without sacrificing code quality whilst leveraging either on-prem or hosted AI models.
